About the role
The Senior Tax Manager will be a key contributor to the corporate tax function, reporting to the Head of Tax. The right individual is expected to be hands-on and proficient in income tax provision, tax compliance, tax controversy, and tax operations. This role will include, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:
What you will do
- Manage all aspects of domestic income tax compliance including tax compliance calendar, tax compliance memo, preparation and timely filing of the consolidated federal and state income, franchise and net worth tax returns, including quarterly estimated tax, extension, and tax account reconciliations.
- Oversee preparation of quarterly income tax provision calculations and projections for all reporting entities and drive preparation of executive deliverables
- Have strong and broad corporate tax knowledge to analyze changes legislative and regulatory tax laws and effectively communicate the impacts to the head of tax
- Proactively identify, develop, and implement process improvements, and document desktop procedures and drive efficiencies and scalability through automation of processes
- Conduct research and prepare tax technical memorandums to document the Company’s tax positions
- Support the development and implementation of strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes
- Partner with business leaders, finance, treasury, legal and external advisers on business, transactions, and tax planning matters
- Manage the federal and state income tax examination process. Liaise with tax advisors for support on an as needed basis
Who you are and What you bring
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, master’s in taxation would be a plus
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting and/or in a corporate tax department of a multinational company, showing the ability to progressively assume additional responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with high level of integrity
- Demonstrate accountability and manage projects and task from start to finish
- Experience researching tax issues, including the ability to analyze the issues and to clearly communicate the conclusions both orally and in writings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with team members at all levels of the organization
- Team oriented, self-motivated and willing to take ownership of projects
- MS Excel skills required, experience with provision software and/or ERP environment a plus
The base pay range for this position is $145,000 to $199,000. This salary range may be modified in the future. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, education or training, work location, and market conditions. This position is also eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
